What GitCMS is
GitCMS is a hosted, Notion-like editor for the Markdown and MDX in a GitHub repository: slash commands, a kanban content board, front-matter forms, and MCP access so ChatGPT or Claude can draft into it. It supports a long list of generators, from Astro and Hugo to Docusaurus and Zola.
Review before publish is built in and on by default, with Owner, Admin, Editor, Reviewer, and Viewer roles, and collaborators sign in with Google or GitHub. It stops at the Markdown layer: copy hardcoded in components is out of scope, and it is GitHub-only and proprietary. The price is the unusual part, a one-time license per site.
